When creating the Constitution, the framers feared that the national government had been given too much authority. They incorporated Separation of Powers, Checks and Balances, and Federalism in the Constitution to prevent this possible issue. These concepts and philosophies are an important part of our constitutional framework, and serve a valuable role in our government. In Articles I through III, the Constitution lays out the instructions for the three branches of government.
Over the course of this unit, we have read several articles on social media. According to Hilary Stout, she believes social media is harming kids today. I agree with her because is distracting kids from doing their work. Social media is also giving kids easier ways to bully and harass other kids. Stout states that kids are less interested in face to face communication and would rather talk online.
How do you think your world would be without social media? If you didn’t know there are real dangers when students use social media. Another reason is social media can harm your reputation. Some people are mistaken about social media because it can help you by putting you in social groups, you can even make friends on social media. Children today use more technological devices and are active on social media platforms compared to children in the 1990’s. Technology plays a huge role when it comes to our daily lives. As technology continues to advance more people are becoming active on social media apps and websites. Texting and social media applications have many advancements and conveniences like easy access to information, entertainment and communicating with others. However, it also has consequences, especially for adolescents.

As most know, procrastination, according to the online Cambridge Dictionary, is the act of delaying something that must be done, often because it is unpleasant or boring. Although many dawdle due to psychological factors, more people, especially students, now find themselves being drawn to ongoing distractions from advancing technology and easy access to social media platforms that are affecting GPAs, sleep patterns, and general health. Technology was initially developed to help individuals to be more efficient with their tasks.
Should kids be allowed to use social media ? Could young children be able to manage social media ? I disagree with this . I think that children 13 and under shouldn 't be using social media until they are mature enough . Instead of wanting to open a new social media account children should do their homework, spend time with family, or go do outdoor activities with friends. If children have social media accounts they will “spend hours browsing and surfing the web”, they will only want to be using it all the time and they will leave all the priorities last (Keim). Now in this generation “our social interaction face to face is decreasing” because we now have advanced accounts that keeps us away from real life activities, and children are influenced by it (Smarty). Children’s time will be wasted in social media because it is not doing any good to them. That time that was wasted on social media could have been used for something way more productive out of the internet.

When a person experiences something new they sometimes get too carried away with it and become addicted, because they enjoy it too much. There was an experiment done by a famous YouTuber where he would message kids on social media with their parents consent, and talk them into meeting up with him.
Social media are mostly used by adults and adolecents. However, there are a lot of children that already use social media. Based on the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, children under 13 years are not allowed to use social media for it can give bad impact for the children who actively use it. The first bad impact is the children can easily access to bad and inappropriate contents.
Social media sites including Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are at their peak when influencing young adults. Ongoing issues, cyberbullying, threats, and hate crimes are being presented through these social media sites and this is one of the multitude of reasons why parents should limit the use of technology for their teenagers. Students, instead of focusing on completing their work, begin to ignore the teachers and instead spend all of their learning time on social media. I personally think that this is something that is going to eventually harm people. With social media being so prominent in school, students are becoming more and more distracted from their schoolwork, and therefore are having a more difficult time passing classes to graduate. The use of social media in school, in my opinion, should be limited.
In the fast developing contemporary world, it seems to be that people cannot spend a day without social media, despite the fact of its numerous negative effects. The vulnerable teenagers should limit the use of social media by spending less time on the Internet as it can cause a number of negative consequences: it can lead to health as well as social problems. Proponents, however, argue that social media changed lives to the better as it made communication easier and faster and there are no negative effects from social media. They might also say it is impossible to withdraw from the Internet at all. This may be true and their argument is valid, nevertheless, all the negative impacts on one’s physical as well as mental health and social life outweigh the mentioned advantages.
