On Sunday, two boys from the east side gang (Greasers), Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade went missing. Neighbors say that on the day of their disappearance, Darry Curtis (Ponyboys brother) was seen slapping Ponyboy. Mrs. Smith a close friend of theirs that lived nearby said "I was actually shocked. Darry had never done something like that to Pony. He was always such a good lad.
It takes a lot in a person to be the glue that holds the gang together. Ponyboy Curtis from The Outsiders by S.E Hinton is a big asset to the gang he is in, Greasers because he is very intelligent. Ponyboy lives with his two brothers Darrel and Sodapop Curtis after their parents had died in a car crash years before. Ponyboy is very anxious sometimes but he is also very overconfident because he only worries about himself unless there is a reason to worry about his brothers or gang. First, Ponyboy is intelligent.
He is kind to his gang and helps people out and tries to learn but it isn't for him. Johnny also tries to emotionally help Pony when they were crying. He says to Pony, “stay gold, Ponyboy. stay gold…”pg. 148.
A hero can be anyone such as your friend, your next door neighbor, or even your sibling. A hero is a person who will risk their life or defend others from harm’s way. In “The Outsiders” by S.E Hinton, Ponyboy is a hero. Johnny is a hero because kills someone to save an innocent person. Cherry teaches Ponyboy lessons about her experiences which also makes her a hero.
Ponyboy and Johnny used to be not as close as now. Therefore, now, they become the closest friend. They become closer and share the same unforgettable experience, they have same situation and same social class. They also rely each other, console each other. Finally they became best friend.
Johnny was the one holding the gang together, but when he died it almost separated them. Also because of Johnny dying, it may have been the main reason why Dally
In the dramatic story “The Outsiders” Ponyboy is always in a dangerous situation, ever since his parents passed away his older brother Darry has been taking care of him and his second older brother Sodapop who is also under Darry’s custody, which proves that he’s not only dealing with one teenager, but with two, and being a young man himself, he has his own problems. Reading the story “The Outsiders,” Ponyboy has always been worried if he would be taken away to a boys home but he doesn't understand that it might be better for him even if he is taken away from Darry, some readers are wondering what is best for him should he stay or should go into a boys home. Ponyboy is better off in a boys home because he will be better taken care of.
Throughout the novel, Hinton characterizes Johnny as A skinny scared boy who has been kicked around to many times. The Outsiders is about Ponyboy Curtis and his brothers, Sodapop and Darry, belong to a group of poor teenage boys called greasers. Many of them have led hard lives already, and they are tough, angry and unforgiving. They often fight with the Socs, the group of wealthy, privileged boys who beat them up for fun. When one is to think of what a hero is, many different definitions may come to mind. It may be someone who saves people, someone who uses courage and bravery, or maybe something completely different. Busting up in flames, kids in terror, all started by a cigarette thrown out and caught the church on fire with kids right next to it having a picnic. In the Outsiders this had happened and Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally were heroes. Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally are heroes for many reasons. Ponyboy is a hero because he is courageous and not afraid to rescue and help people in their times of need. One main reason why Ponyboy is a hero is that when school children are stuck in a fire Ponyboy runs in to rescue them.
The character Johnny grows in major ways throughout The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Johnny was a greaser, His best friend was Ponyboy, the main character. Johnny was a dynamic character, he contributed a lot to the main theme. Johnny had bad parents and committed murder. Soon after his bad acts, he became a hero.
A Hero is someone who risks their life for someone else's. Greasers can be heros,anyone can be heroes. Jonny, Pony and dally are 3 examples of heros in The Outsiders be S.E Hinton. They are heros even tho they are greasers, they saved a lot of people in many different ways.
Soda, the closest friend of Ponyboy, helps Ponyboy be more mature in The Outsiders, written by S.E Hinton. Ponyboy was an introverted boy. Although he had a lot of friends, Soda is his best friend because in his mind, Ponyboy is even more important than himself. He put a lot of patience in Ponyboy. The special relationship between Soda and Ponyboy is more than brothers due to they help Darry to understand Ponyboy, they never leave each other alone, and they rescue each other from problems.
What is a hero? A hero is someone who is courageous and is willing to step up and fight when the time is right. A hero fights for is for the betterment of others, and not only to benefit themselves. Johnny, Ponyboy, and Dally are all heroes in "The Outsiders," by S. E. Hinton, although Johnny is the greatest hero of them all.
