Classical Ballet in Cuba When we think of classical ballet, what comes to mind? This realization intensified my desire to engage myself in volunteer work in the community. In high school, I dedicated much of my time to volunteer clubs such as Key Club, Autism Speaks Club, and Red Cross Club. My involvement with National Honor Society and Math Honor Society also allowed me to continue my volunteer work in my community. This scholarship will provide me the support I need to continue my education and passion for helping others. There is a saying, “be the difference you want to see in the world” and I want to be that difference.
Opportunity Abundance: As a member of the community, I believe that the grant should go towards the development of an outdoor park. Having an outdoor park will encourage children to be active outside, be useful to schools involved in sports programs, and encourage more opportunities for jobs around the area. The benefits are more than gracious to the community, and could attract others to join in on the fun. The first point of my proposal on why the funding should go towards an outdoor park is: it helps children exercise and enjoy the outdoors.

The part of the dance I will be talking about in this paper is the sand portion of the dance. This part of the dance was my favorite part of the dance. I can not describe it well. The best way I can describe it is that I was just drawn to this dance. I felt the dance as it progressed and I just felt more and more connected with it.
The lights brighten, blinding me. The hundreds of faces in front of me become a blur. I become indifferent to roar of clapping and shouting. Suddenly, the music blares and my body is instantly put into motion. Three minutes pass by in what seems like a matter of seconds and before I know it, I’m standing in the wings, out of breath, excitement pumping through my veins.
I have always had a burning passion for dance since I was a young girl. My first time on a stage, I was immediately hooked. The overpowering feeling of a crowd of people watching me as I do what I love, is a feeling I have always admired. Dance has developed my character and personality in many different ways. I have been taught responsibility, discipline, integrity and much more.
