The part of the dance I will be talking about in this paper is the sand portion of the dance. This part of the dance was my favorite part of the dance. I can not describe it well. The best way I can describe it is that I was just drawn to this dance. I felt the dance as it progressed and I just felt more and more connected with it. With all the other dances I had to think a little more to find meaning behind them , while in this dance I did not have to think to hard about it. The meaning for this portion of the dance just kind of came to me really easily while I was watching. It felt like I knew exactly what the choreographer wanted me to get. (Now whether or not I actually got what the choreographer wanted me to get is a completely different story.) In the beginning of the dance the stage was completely empty. The movement to me looked as if the dancers were accepting a part of their greeting the floor and the air. This reads as if they were accepting their past as well as their future. Then they make the decision to kill themselves, which is the movement that looks like they are hanging themselves. After they make that decision they have to got through all the planning and coming to terms with what will happen to those who love and care about them. In making the decision to kill themselves they realize that the lives of those around them will be affected greatly. Thus they begin to kick and push the sand in sporadic ways to symbolize the chaos in their lives. They do this until they come to terms with the decision they have made. Once they come to terms with the decision they find that they have pushed themselves out of the circle of sand that they have throw about and this is when they settle into what will be and they can begin to find
