ˆ Death. When that word comes out of ones mouth and pierces a persons ear, sometimes people hear a ringing sensation. A sensation so loud they cannot bare to hear. The topic is then avoided and the subject is switched. Why is that? Well, death is hard concept to grasp in the world we live in today because some people rather it not hear about it until the day transpires. They rather go on with their lives by letting the time go by to have a family, a career, to live life and then retire. They are so consumed by life itself, then; unfortunately, someone passes away. That is why it is imperative for some people to find a religion. What is religion? A Religion is, “ People who share practices and beliefs (often in God or gods), who gather in special buildings for worship or meditation, and who live in special ways in the world,” (Bowker 2016). There are a plethora of religions in this world. Of the many religions, there is: Judaism and Christianity. God is troubled because people are living without worries. Going about life sinning without repenting for the immoral they have done. What also surprises God is even the good people forsaking him. Jesus died on the cross to save everyone, “ I hanged between two, it cannot be denied; To get them life I suffered to be dead,” (Medieval Sourcebook 1998). In the Bible the New Kings James Version (NKJV) in John chapter three verse sixteen states, “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life,” (Holy Bible 1983). In the play Everyman the author depicts death as a message from God. God sends down death to whomever he chooses. It could be young, old, sick, healthy, rich or poor. God seeks assistance from the messenger, but Death volunteers to assist. Therefore, God tells Death to go to Everyman who is not following the Word of God. Death then finds Everyman and relays the commandment from God. Everyman seeks to give Death money for another day of life. “ Yea, a thousand pound shalt thou have, And defer this matter till another day,”
