March 17, 2023 Dear Readers, Fear. Fear is defined as being afraid of someone or something that is likely to be dangerous, painful or threatening. Should you fear your family? Should you fear your own brother?
“The only thing to fear is fear itself.” (Franklin D. Roosevelt). Fear is a commonly confused emotion. Everyone’s response to fear varies. People may pass off fear as other things such as stress, anxiety, and in some cases laughter.
Is fear the only thing to fear? Maybe it is, maybe it is not. Fear is a strong emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. Some people use fear to control the people around them. Someone that uses fear to control others is called a demagogue.
What is fear? The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines fear, “To be afraid of someone or something (Fear).” Fear, is a very small yet oh so powerful word. This definition fits the word very well.
What is fear you might ask? Fear is that unpleasant feeling you get when you believe something or someone is dangerous. Many people have different fears. For example, I have a fear of needles and a fear of forgetting. Today you will read about how fear is shown and why it is in Arthur Miller’s play, The Crucible.

Indeed, it ranges from the loss of rationality to the capacity of adaptation in extreme conditions. Thus, fear can be perceived as a weapon to control and manipulate society.
Fear is what you make of it because nothing is inherently scary it is what you take from the object or experience that makes it scary and fills your head with fear. When people think of fear, they typically think that it is a terrible thing, what’s wrong with that is that some people are so afraid of the world and fear itself, that we can miss out on really important aspects of everyday living because as fear may be an inhibitor, it can also be a really great motivator. Fear can keep people locked up in their houses all day alone, and that makes people miss out on the finer things in life. When people are too scared to leave their house or go outside due to irrational fears, they miss out on some really beautiful things. For example if people are afraid of animals like bears or birds they might miss out on amazing things like hunting, fishing, camping and hiking.
Fear is an emotion that almost everyone comes across in life. It can stop an individual from doing things that can alter their entire lives but it can also see people from having a or ribose experience. There are people who like to face their fears head on, they feel accomplished when they are able to conquer their fears, others will not even dear to act on their fears, they like to stay in their "comfort zones" what they normally like to do because they know the outcome and have nothing to fear. I remember waking up feeling really sick, sick to my stomach I had to run to the bathroom to throw up. I do not usually throw up I hate throwing up it leave one feeling weak and drained but I couldn't help it.
