There are many different types of beauty and every type has qualities that define them. All types of beauty are subjective and differ from one person to another. Some may say inner beauty is about having a beautiful soul, and some qualities are being kind and funny. Some may also say physical beauty is about ones appearance and physical attributes such as a fit body or an attractive face. Subjectively physical beauty is what truly defines what beauty is. Although beauty is subjective, overall the general definition of beauty has remained the same throughout the years, however the idea of beauty has changed drastically.
Beauty has always been about one’s personal appearance, as much as people say that inner beauty is what counts the most, outer beauty is what is first perceived. Outer or physical beauty, is the first impression that individuals make about someone. The idea of beauty is constantly changing, because preferences and styles change ones appearance and appearances are a part of being beautiful. What was considered beautiful many years ago may not be beautiful today. An example of this is back in the day woman did not shave their armpits and they were still considered attractive. Now a days, if a woman has not shaved her armpits, it has taken away from her beauty because she is no longer what is generally considered beautiful due to her “out of date style”. This applies to physical unchangeable features as well, such as wide hips. In today’s culture having a small waist and wide hips are what is longed for by most; not even a decade ago the fad was to be as skinny as possible.
