Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder
When asked to define beauty, people tend to lean towards the physical aspects of beauty. The physical aspects of beauty are much easier to define based on society’s standards, but what about the inward aspects of beauty? Beauty is not just in the figure of your body, in the clothes you wear, or in the way you look. Beauty is in the soul and heart, it is in the qualities most admired and appreciated in a person or object. Beauty is not defined by an object or persons appearance, but what makes them. Beauty is something extraordinary in a person that is individually pleasing and meaningful. Beauty is seen in Optimism, beauty is seen independence, beauty is seen kindness, and the ability to be uplifting to others. Beauty is the attributes and part of a person that are inwardly desired and and hold various meanings to people and their perspectives.

Subjectively, the term beauty is defined independently by each and every person. Today, so much of the definitions emphasis is placed on a person’s or object’s physical appearance. Physically attractive objects and people are known to be beautiful and desirable, and those that do not meet society’s standards of “beauty” can be ridiculed. Yet, beauty does not mean the outward or physical appearance of a person or object. Beauty can define a person’s heart and personality; beauty can explain a person’s actions, or describe an inspiring view. While it is true that appearance can be described as beautiful as well, that is only part of the definition of beauty.
