“Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten” a quote said by American actor David Ogden Stiers. Family will be the first thing you have when you are born. Family will be there at the end of the day. They will be there when you lose your friends, significant other, job, and everything. Your family will be by your side through it all no matter how bad you or your life gets. Family has many definitions, the definition family has for me is: the people that worry about your well being and mental being regardless of relation. According to Merriam-Webster the definition of family is “a group of individuals living under one roof and usually under one head”. Family is more than just genetics and relations. I lived in a “happy” house with both parents still together and my brother and grandma living with me. Yes it was a happy household, but I wasn’t happy because I felt restricted from the outside world. When I finally did get to go outside more I met people that I became close too. I considered these people my family because they wanted me to do what made me happy. They wanted me to come outside because they knew how happy I was when I wasn’t home A man and woman having a child but giving up their child for adoption. When the child does get an adoptive family, they are considered family regardless of blood relation. The child will consider the adoptive parents family more than his real family would be. Families that adopt children show that blood relation doesn’t always mean family. Family is important to everyone because everyone has a family regardless of relation. Another quote that suggest this is the famous quote “blood is thicker than water”. That quote implies that family goes before friends but what people get wrong about it is that it’s not the true full quote. The full quote is “The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb” which tells that relationships made by choice holds deeper meaning than ones genetically inherited. In conclusion family is not only family by blood, it can be made from strong bonds that won’t end when a person cares about someone’s well being and mental
