How does one define a good job? Is getting a college degree, having a six-digit salary, a secure job, and paying bills on time define a good job? Or, arguably, less income, but stress-free environment, and something that the person looks forward to doing every day define a good job? The question confuses many. Too many people are focused or either talked into going to college, just so they have a secure job which will pay their bills. The majority of people going to college have voices of their parents or friends in their head that, if one does not go to college, they will not succeed and work a low-paying job and struggle for the rest of their lives. A person that takes on less stress will enhance their performance at work, have a sense of purpose, and great relationship with their co-workers. If an individual who looks forward to going to work daily, they will focus less on the time, in which time will go by faster. For example, I am an Uber/Lyft driver and most of my days, I always ask myself, where did the last eight hours go? It is a stress-free job and I look forward to doing it every day, which is considered a good job. The majority of time it doesn’t even feel like a job, but a hobby that I am making money from. Many of my relatives judged me when I started working as an Uber/Lyft driver, saying it was a stressful job and would require a lot of hours on the road and I should quit and focus on getting a degree because without a degree, there is no future. Having a degree does not guarantee that a person would get a good job and secure their future, but instead a good job is when a person is happy with their job and look forward to doing it every
