Love is such an overused word in our society today. So many people say things like, I love pasta, I absolutely love your outfit. I will admit, I am just as guilty of this as anyone. But does anyone even know what love means anymore since we as a society have a warped and twisted sense of it? In John 3:16, a verse I’m sure we all know well says, “For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only Son, so that all who believe in Him may not perish, but have eternal life.”...For God so LOVED the world...God’s love is described as unconditional, so is love just a topical word used to describe things we don’t really associate any feelings with? In the famous Webster’s Dictionary, love is described as an intense feeling of deep affection, which I think is the closest we humans will ever be able to get to describing love….Love to me is something so much more than that. Love is sitting with someone who is rejected, not for attention or recognition, but out of kindness….love to me is smiling at someone you pass in the hallway just because….love to me is appreciating someone for just being them….love to me, is when Jesus spread His arms, palms facing up for nails to be driven into them because He truly LOVED us….love to me is how God allowed His only Son to be beaten and hung on a cross to die in order to save sinners like you and me and allow us to know that we are forgiven. That is the ultimate act of love….How many of you who have children would be able to sacrifice them like God did for people that are greedy, thieves, murderers, sinners? Just always remember that there is nothing you could ever do to take you out of reach from God’s love, because someone that has loved us enough to send His only Son to be killed for billions of sinners, surely has a strong enough love to get to any depths of the earth to love you and
