Fear can be, and usually is, universal. No one calmly sits through a hurricane, or takes a call when there's a gas leak. Every human being fears something, whether or not they would like to admit it. Therefore, complete “fearlessness” is not real. But, there are different kinds of fearlessness. As a person grows they overcome certain fears, from childhood to adulthood. Different stages of life correspond with different forms of fearlessness. It’s a difficult process that truly shapes a person, and as they change the definition of fearlessness changes with them. Everyone matures at their own pace; eventually fears of sounds and animals turn into fears of other people's opinions and the fact that life isn’t always as easy as cartoons make it seem. There are plenty of other things that children fear, but these seem to be some of the most common and are likely to appear around the time they start school. Most kids don’t really get to experience getting to know people on their own and what it’s like to deal with problems until they have to be independant in a classroom. This is where their self-esteem can mold new fears and break down old ones. For example, say a six year old girl has been shunned by a group of other girls at school. It’s likely she’ll fear being turned down again, she’ll think “What’s wrong with me, what if everyone else will treat me the same way?”. But, eventually she’ll surpass her fears. She’ll exemplify fearlessness when she accepts that others may not be fond of her or her opinions, but that is no reason to change who you are or be upset. That is being fearless; the type of fearless all children should learn at a young age. Because in order to pass future fears in life, they must tear down the ones that came before it. Although some fears never really disappear but each time they are faced the dwindle down a little
