Cyberbullying is becoming more typical, especially among teenagers, and this has raised questions about how to prevent bullying from occurring. The schools want to maintain a safe environment for learning, one of the questions being asked is “Should schools be allowed to limit students’ online speech?.” This is the wrong way to pursue the bullying crisis*. Limiting online speech violates our* constitutional rights, students are not the only ones being bullied/ being the bullies, and this is just a method of communication. Limiting online speech could take away what little voice teenagers have, your words are powerful.

Imagine being a newly graduated nurse and landing a job on your dream unit. There is this one nurse who likes to taunts the new nurses. You began to realize that she does things to make you uneasy and you began to feel like the target of workplace bullying. Horizontal Violence has become a newly coined termed to further define the concept of bullying in the workplace. According to Becher and Visovsky (2012), Horizontal Violence is described as “an act of hostility that creates an undesirable work environment that weakens teamwork in the clinical setting”.
Recent statistics state LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex) youth are six times more likely to attempt suicide than their heterosexual peers (LGBTI Health Organsation, 2017) with over 80% of abuse against LGBTI youth occurring in schools (Bully Zero Australia Foundation, 2017). The bullying and violence against LGBTI youth in schools ultimately has a negative effect on the student’s mental health and school performance. This investigation focuses on ‘How supportive are South Australian high schools of LGBTI students? ,’ detailing the policies and programs schools undertake regarding the education of students and teachers on LGBTI issues. Three questions will be used to examine the issue ‘Why do schools need to support LGBTI students?,’ which will ultimately illustrate the effects of students being marginalised and harassed in a “safe” environment.

On Monday, February 29, 2016, I interviewed Dr. K. Wallace, District Administrator for Jefferson County Public School District. The interview was on the topic of ethical fairness in education. Dr. Wallace discussed the issue of bullying in public education. He indicated that bullying is becoming an increasing problem for educators. According to Dr. Ross, administrators must strike a balance in respecting the rights of students and eradicating acts of bullying.
Almost everyone is teased or bullied for something. Not everyone stands to up it, though. It can have a powerful effect on life; it can tear down confidence or cause depression. However, the strongest people do not care and stand tall up to bullies--they are assertive. Confidence is hard to come by, just like strong willed people.
Psychology Psychology, the career that takes understanding the behavior of an ordinary human into a deeper, more emotional meaning with mental connection. Psychology is a career that I’d love to partake for the reason that it defines the truth behind human behavior. It’s interesting considering not many people understand the way the brain functions and how the brain is linked to your emotions causing you to feel and act a certain way. Becoming a psychologist would make me happy because I’d have the sophisticated ability to understand people struggling with a mental yet emotional way. Recently, bullying has been becoming more and more of an issue. It’s gotten so bad that one out of four kids deal with it. Currently, bullying is worldwide. There’s no place where it began, because it’s pretty much human nature. According to Megan Brooks bullying is a serious public health problems, with significant short-and long-term psychological consequences for the child who is bullied and the child who is the bully. This only tells us that bullying can lead to difficulty that a certain children may experience and will have either short or long term problem. “Bullying has long been tolerated as a rite of passage among children and adolescents, but it has lasting, negative consequences and cannot simply be ignored.” Committee chair Frederick Rivera, MD.
Workplace bullying is a growing issue for all the organizations to manage people. Bullying is defined as acts or verbal comments that could 'mentally ' hurt or isolate a person in the workplace. As well as, sometimes bullying can involve negative physical contact. Furthermore, bullying usually involves repeated incidents or a pattern of behavior that is intended to intimidate, offend, and humiliate a particular person or group of people. Some scholars described bullying as the assertion of power through aggression (Workplace Bullying Institute, 2015).

Bullying in schools is a common and worldwide spread problem that can have critical and negative implications on the general school climate as well as on the right of students to study in a safe and secure environment without fear. Many people believe that bullying is part of life, happens in all schools and so it’s not an issue to worry about and that it lets individuals know what life is all about as it toughens them but in reality bullying is a detrimental problem that affects most school going children and teenagers physically, emotionally and socially.
