Without question, we must know and recall that true friends can and will enhance our lives. The word “friend” comes from an Old English word “freond” which means “to love, to favor” (“friend”). A friend is normally somebody one does not identify by birth, marriage or from any lawful ties. Regularly, a friend may be an easygoing person, or could be close to us. They could be a nurturer or even a role model, a few friends will be more than that. For instance, they may even be a sustaining and best friend, too. Whatever kind of friend somebody has, if the individual is genuine, then there are many particularly great reasons that those kind of friends are critical. A friend is also loyal, for example in the movie franchise “Toy Story”, the toys Woody and Buzz show how loyal they are to each other and how great friends they are. Woody learns how to regard Buzz as a friend rather than a competitor and also learns that Andy still loves him and needs him even if he doesn’t spend as much time playing with him. It displays a positive example of how to overcome differences through the characters of Woody and Buzz. In the beginning Woody and Buzz despise the presence of each other, Woody is jealous of Buzz and is afraid that he will take his leadership spot, while Buzz is feels annoyed by Woody and believes that he is superior to him. The toys together are able to overcome and move past their differences when they are in a situation where they must work together in order to get out safe. Through the three movies, both Buzz and Woody stick together through thick and thin, they don’t abandon the other when they need them the most, and that truly shows how important to each other they are. Another example of a great fictional friendship is the friendship of the ages: Sherlock Holmes and Watson. Through the entire series Watson always accompanies Sherlock to all of his cases; he also defends Sherlock when other detectives question his honor. Watson doesn’t abandon Sherlock when the going gets tough. Both the characters balance each other out, and although Sherlock becomes the famous detective, Watson is critical to every case Sherlock encounters. These two detectives are the perfect friendship.
