As soon as this prompt of Happiness was brought as an option I knew that I had to choose this prompt, because what is happiness? What is defined as happiness and how do we know it is happiness if each person has a different lifestyle, a different perception of life and what makes them happy? In the prompt the first question is “What makes you happy” and my answer to that is that my family and friends happiness and well-being makes me happy, as well as doing what I love. Happiness therefore not only comes from our relationships, but also from within ourselves.

Happiness consist of; nature, intellectual, vocational, social, humor, physical, and spiritual happiness to create 100% happiness in an individual (Murray 2014). If you categorize these seven types of happiness as either being part of internal or external, then physical, spiritual, intellectual, and humor are internal, but all seven types also seem to be external. For instance, nature is external; it has a big role in happiness as it is something beyond beautiful. One can enjoy it by going for a hike, camping, sightseeing, or exploring. That would be something ideal to do in a group of close loved ones but also alone. Intellectual happiness can be both internal and external as you can learn from others, gain knowledge from those considered mentors, gain experience through mimicking their actions to further improve one’s self as a person but also internal as you learn from yourself and all the mistakes you have done in the past to never repeat them again, and become wiser in further decision making. To be happy with your dream career is a great thing that has been dedicated a lot of hard work and effort, especially here in America as it is built upon the American dream in which brings great happiness and contentment not only to you as an individual but to those who love and care for the
