There is no doubt that money can buy nice things and allow you to have new and exciting experiences, but many people also find happiness simply by being surrounded by the people they love. A person’s income shapes their life and how they live, yet does it control how happy they are? In some cases, money can provide happiness, yet there are also people who find happiness just by enjoying the company of others; therefore, it truly depends on each individual person of whether or not money buys happiness.
When thinking of happiness, every human brain will travel down a different path. Humans seek different ways of trying to attain true happiness. Many individuals will seek pleasurable moments and things in order to reach their happy trial. Sitting on a porch Sunday morning with a cup of coffee. Going out with your loved one to see a new release in theaters.
It just depends on the person. For instance, my definition of happy is doing what you want to do with your own life, but most Americans might think that money makes people, or themselves happy.
Happiness Happiness is a magical word, all of us know what feeling it brings to our hearts, but what does it exactly mean? Merriam Webster dictionary has two definition regarding happiness. The first definition is “A state of well-being and contentment.” “A Pleasurable or satisfying experience.” Is the second description.
A house, nice car, a lot of friends, and money in the bank… these are examples of happiness. For others, happiness is being able to say. Growing up, I thought happiness meant these things. But I’ve learned over the years, that happiness about the things around me.
What is our goal in life? I say, one of the many goals in our life is to achieve ‘Happiness’ aren’t we. It is the primary reason a person has long-lasting life in this world. This is the question ‘How can a person has the right to happiness if there are people bewitching in the act of bullying?’ What is Bullying?
In the dictionary, happiness is defined as “Happiness is translated from the Greek concept of eudemonia, and refers to the good life, or flourishing, as opposed to an emotion.” Happiness can have many cussed and they are different for each person. Good to know that among all emotions, happiness last less. There are some cusses of happiness. The first cause is the success.
What is Happiness? Each individual may have an entirely different view on the meaning of happiness. Personally, happiness to me is being content with what you have, being able to provide one’s basic needs and helping others. Some people necessitate material things in order to be happy, while for others, it is showing humanitarianism which according to Jeremy Bentham is ‘‘the greatest good for the greatest number of people’’. No matter one’s status in life, we all deserve to be happy, however, we should not pursue happiness at the expense of others. Human beings existence is to make others happy, once others are happy we too will be happy.
One study revealed that money was an essential need for happiness, but it was not what made the people happy. They established satisfaction in close relationships with loved ones, community work, fulfillment and pride from their work and accomplishments (Diener and Biswas-Diener 162). The highest life satisfaction was found in societies of wealthy nation while the unhappiest nations were the extremely poor ones. When it comes to materialism, it does not matter if someone is rich or poor, all that matters is that “your income is sufficient to your desire,” and that “differences in aspirations lead to very different amounts of happiness” (Diener and Biswas-Diener 170).
Happiness has a broad meaning. One may consider it to be having money, love, or even just enjoying the little things in life. There is no real definition for happiness because it all depends on a person 's perspective of life. Happiness is more about the way you think and act rather than a material possession. It is not something that has a physical form, or that is worth something valuable, yet everybody seeks it.
Well, that is what I’m here to discuss. Obviously, there are two sides to that story. Many agree, and many disagree. I will go into the details of both sides, however, let me first say which side I support. I agree with both sides, however, my opinion lies more towards money can’t buy you happiness.
Being rich leads to a stressful life but what doesn’t have problems and not being perfect is what makes us humans in this earth. There is a lot of debate on this matter that money could buy happiness, many people that agree to this lived on both sides for example a singer songwriter started from the bottom just making music but one day being notice and became wealthy. This outcome happens a lot in today’s time with the power of social media, but they could say their life got changed for the better they might be a few bumps in the road, but nothing can’t be fixed over time or putting in more money in which they have plenty of now.
