Stress is something that most people deal with on an everyday basis. One can experience it for a variety of reasons, and to varying degrees; because it is so a dominant problem face at times, it is important to learn to cope in healthy ways. If there is a faulty method of coping—or a lack of it altogether—it can result in unnecessary physical and mental anguish. Stress is commonly associated with that can be dealt with coping such as meditation, exercising, and sometimes eating as well
Being a highly influential psychological force, stress manifests itself in one’s cognitive processes. Some examples of these manifestations include affecting one’s capacity to concentrate and make decisions. Is uncommon for a person to later regret the actions they made while under stress; an example of this might be lashing out emotionally and disrespecting those with whom they cross paths. The chronic stress, also known as heart problems, can be associated with the defeat of immune function, and there is evidence that the immune system may not adapt over time. Often when shown is that certain personality styles may enhance or degrade immune response (American Psychological Association). Psychosocial factors such as non-immunity have been identified for several diseases, including cancer and or life threatening problems acquired immune deficiency syndrome, and autoimmune diseases; psychosocial interventions have been tested with variable results.
