Respect is a word that has a lot of depth to it no matter what way you use it. The word by definition is kind of hard to pin down concretely because it is subjective, and it can be used in many different ways with many different meanings based on the usage. What does this word really mean? I feel like that as we get older we figure out that this word does not just have a simple definition, and that it changes throughout our life. As I went through high school I feel like I gained a better understanding of how to go about showing someone that you respect them. The word means more than being nice to someone, but also finding ways to show them that you care and want to know what they think. I also realized in order to find respect you must put others before yourself.

This statistics clearly support my argument here, making reference about the lack of attention people give to this issue. You may think that since we are talking about teens, they are most likely to stay quiet because of parenting reasons, social approval, etc.
