Introduction:
In the beginning, I applied and prepared for this program in “Educational
Leadership” wanting to make a difference. The first year of teaching for me was the hardest year of my life; the second was mildly better. I hadn’t felt much if any support from my administration and began thinking, “I could do a better job then them.” Now, during my third year, teaching is leaps and bounds better than before. As I continue to grow as an educator I see myself taking leadership in my job and using what I learn through out these courses to improve myself personally and professionally. This seems to be a reliable way to get information sent to parents who don’t have other outside resources. Other methods I have seen used are announcements on radio stations and television. Parent-teacher conferences are another method of delivery for information. Without further training, it is hard to know what policies there are and how to properly communicate them to the public. Conclusion:
My values and beliefs in relation to education are that all students and educators disserve a fair and equal opportunity for success. Equal opportunities are very important for success to be achieved. I believe a good administrator should have their own set of core values and beliefs about life as well as work. As a person, respect is an important core value that all people should have. In order to get respect, you must be willing to give it. Openness to diversity and difference is another belief that should be followed.
Not all people learn or teach in the same ways, so embracing their differences and learning from them is an excellent way to grow as a person and educator. Knowing that people come from all walks of life and having respect of that will aid administration
