Koenig thinks she can cruise through the project easily by writing simple poems about her ancestry, but the truth hampers that notion revealed from her DNA test: the dad she has grown up with her whole life is not her real dad. Her biological Dad is a suspicious man living in Seattle with a skeptical past. Cordelia faces several difficult choices throughout the novel and struggles as many normal teens do in handling the news she discovers.

In leadership, it is important that leaders coordinate the effective management of resources, namely time, material and people, to ensure that they are conveying an effective teaching and learning environment.
Dietz(1997) argued that when a school limits parental involvement to a particular type of involvement (e.g. fundraising, committee membership) then only a small proportion of parents become involved. As a result the school neither really involves parents, nor reaps the potential benefits from involvement. Instead, a more comprehensive model of parental involvement which elicits a wide variety of parental involvement is advocated (Dauber & Epstein, 1993). Definitions of Parent Involvement There is a voluminous amount of research relevant to parent involvement and the degree to which parents serves as agents and advocates on behalf of their child’s educational experience (Barnard, 2004). The extensive review of literature helps confirm this work by offering credible insights into the manner in which parents and school have attempted to devise collaborative partnerships that facilitates academic success among students. While there have been numerous strides pertaining to the benefits of parental involvement in the literature, the definition and expectations related to the role of the parent and parent involvement are somewhat mixed (Howard, Tyrone, Reynolds, & Ream, 2008).
Leadership plays a vital role in the success of the school systems and the development of society. As society becomes more complex, so does the leadership that is required to govern it (Balyer, 2012 cited Fullan, 2001). Leadership in its sophistication is said to be transformational. As such, transformational leadership has been of growing interest to many scholars and theorists over the years. The focus of transformational leadership in the school system has resulted in the development of many turn-around schools, as well as, increased leadership performances of school principals.
Teachers are the life-blood of school districts across the United States. They are masters of their specific grade-level content and work tirelessly to manage the learning and well-being of their students. Teachers are the academic leaders of the learning environment within their classrooms and collaborate with their students throughout the year in order to facilitate learning, and foster creativity and problem solving. However, over the last thirty years, teacher leadership has taken on a whole new meaning.
As a teacher, it is my responsibility to share information on the development of the child and have a clear and constant flow of dialogue with the family. This will enable both parties to deal with any issues that may arise within the family, school or community. It also my belief that parents should have an active part in their child’s learning and be able to lend a hand whenever necessary, and having open communication with them will allow this transparency and connection between home and school. The community is vital in ensuring that the facilities around the community and school is appropriate for the different children and families to live in and grow. A very good example of this successful collaboration is the Reggio Emilia approach in Italy.
