What Defines an American? American. A native or citizen of the North, Central, or South America. In focus, a native or citizen of the United States of America. Americans, from the United States, are now facing an identity crisis as they enter a new era. However, they are seen in different ways all over the world, leaving impressions on everybody in a different way. And even though Americans are stereotyped,it is almost undeniable that they are strong minded and fierce. This means they come together when dealing with common interests and issues; they have goals for the future and have a possibility of redemption with all people. It is well known that Americans are rich in knowledge, freedom, and wealth. With access to excess, America has become a world power due to its vast capabilities to become more significant in the eyes of the world. In some countries, Americans can be serotypes fat and rich due to our exponential amount of currency compared to other countries and the large amount of fast food restaurants. The definition of American doesn't exist, because how can we define a people without a culture? It's impossible. It doesn’t matter if someone else believes you are incapable or if they think you are inadequate because of the color of your skin or where you are from. If you live in America, if you truly believe that you want to live by the laws and focus on the betterment of this nation, then nobody else’s opinion is relevant. Because to be an American is to focus on the betterment of this nation and to put our strong, independent minds together in order to create a better America.
