What is happiness? Happiness is the state of being happy. Going by a dictionary definition. It has a very deep meaning actually. To many people, happiness is being satisfied to a huge degree. Some people go through their entire life not knowing what happiness is. If one can’t live happy, then why live at all? Just be born, survive, reproduce, and then die? No, happiness is necessary in everyone’s life because it gives us meaning, motivation, and can be a goal. It is something that everyone should strive for. I for one, know I am happy. Sadness. That is what any human with at least a single brain cell would say. There are many reasons for sadness. Many have felt it. Sadness is not pleasant at all. One of the many causes of sadness can be the death of a loved one. Sadness itself cannot be put into words perfectly. Some words that would describe sadness are down, low, depressed, melancholy, and dark. Sadness is more prevalent in some peoples lives than others. Somebody cannot live a life of pure happiness, or sadness. That is the one thing the two emotions have in common. If not the only thing. There are also different types of sadness. Temporary sadness is definitely the most common because sadness does not usually last a long time. What are the causes of happiness? The truth is, there are many causes for happiness. They differ from person to person. Someone may be happy their favorite football team won a big game last weekend. Another may be happy about his or her ex having bad luck. Dr. Sedberry is probably happy when he is kicking an otter into a soccer goal. A shallow sorority girl is happy when she makes t-shirts for a stupid event. Comedians are happy when they offend somebody in a way that others find funny. Where would comedians be if they didn't offend people? They would be in the unemployment line.
