I know that quote isn’t included in the video, but it got your attention, didn’t it? It sure did for me. Just like the video about love, it also got my attention. Before we dive right into the heart of this passage, let us first know what we are dealing with. Obviously, love is the topic, but what is love? Why did I choose it? There must be something special about love, right? I’ll show you what I think but it’s still up to you to decide on what your answer will be.
Before we go deeper, let us have an overview about love. There are seven classifications of love according to Aristotle. First is eros which is romantic love. Second, philia which is involved in friendship. Third, storge, the love between family members. Fourth, agape, the universal love. Fifth, ludus, the uncommitted or playful love. Sixth, pragma, the kind of love founded on a duty or reason. Lastly, philautia which is self-love. Each of these loves have their own specific purposes. Although, they have one ultimate goal. To answer the question: why do we love?

We know for a fact that people do not want to be hurt emotionally and because of that, we tend to build our walls as strong as they can be so that no one will be able to get through and hurt us. Thus, in this process, we have the tendency to isolate ourselves from others and that is where love comes in.
