Maturity, defined by Webster’s dictionary is... just kidding using the dictionary definition of a word is pointless and dull. So what does maturity actually mean? Being mature is reaching the point of enlightenment in life that you realize that you are human and in life, you win some and lose some. You make mistakes, and are not complacent with where you stand. As most people think that being mature, and being defined with that word, warrants you to be smart and all knowing. As a child, we all looked up to our parents and elders to be all-knowing and godly. In reality, our elders we looked up to were not all-knowing or anywhere near close to a god-like figure. Being mature does not correlate to uwknowledge. So what does come with being mature? There are five key parts that come with being mature. One being really seeing how much you don 't know. Being humble and aware that you are not an all knowing smart-ass shows maturity. Maturity is not age. Maturity is not being able to buy alcohol. Maturity is not being able to buy cigarettes. Maturity is not being able to drive. Sad to say... but maturity is not knowledge. Maturity is not ACT scores, grades, boyfriends, or even having children. Some of the most mature people, do not define themselves as mature. You cannot make yourself mature, you have to be matured. So your final question is how do I become mature? That 's a simple question with a complex answer. The ways that people become mature are from family deaths, injuries, breakups, relationships, family matters, and yes, even bad grades. Maturity is not giving birth, having millions of dollars, or even having a perfect body.
