School is an environment in which a student feels safe and not threatened, for my sister and i, our first few years in school left us scarred. As a child I always resented my family for immigrating to The United States. Having to leave the comfort and stability of my home in Ghana, at a young age, left me in a vulnerable state. I had no idea what was in store for me in the States. No one likes being taken out of their comfort zone, but that was the harsh reality that my sister and I had to face.
