Deloitte is a multinational professional services firm, in which professionals within independent firms collaborate to provide audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk advisory and tax services to clients throughout the world (Deloitte Australia, 2017) With over 150 years of service, Deloitte has more than 245 000 working professionals across 150 countries hence new job roles are always arising. This is evident with the recent advertisement for a Senior Analyst to join the public sector advisory team located in Melbourne. The candidate will become a member of the advisory team in which the team works in conjunction with government departments and agencies in order to aid them in their decision making process about financial and commercial decisions. Thus, the candidate must be willing to and enjoy working in teams. The first interview is a phone interview with the relevant recruitment team member and is a semi-structured interview as the recruitment member usually has basic questions to ask the candidate e.g. previous work experience. Ideally, this is the best chance for the candidate to ask any questions they have in regards to the job role or the firm. If successful, a second phone call will take place with the appropriate service line relating to the job and is a more in-depth interview relating to the technical fit of the candidate. The final stage of the interview process is an in-depth structured interview at a Deloitte office with a senior consultant. During this interview, the candidate will be assessed on their consulting capability and be presented with a case study. The case study provides the potential candidate with a scenario in which they have time to read about and then asked questions
