The Democratic Party is the oldest political party in the United States. The Democratic Party was formed in 1792, to oppose the supporters of Thomas Jefferson, otherwise known as the Republican Party. Democrats support Civil Rights and have worked on issues such as women’s suffrage. The Democratic Party aims to reform and stabilize the United States. Leaders of the Democratic Party will help to strengthen the United States by enhancing the following aspects: education, taxation, and healthcare.
The Democrats have a plan to enhance the education of America. The Democratic Party has specific ideas dedicated to education. For example, The Obama Administration is working to create the “No child left behind program.” The program will provide more resources and prevent disadvantages for the school system to ensure that children will have educational success. The Democrats also support higher education because “in 2015, the President announced a landmark proposal to make community college free to anyone who is willing to work for it” (Democrats, 2015). They have issued more grants and improved the financial aid system for future and current students.
