Demonstrated use of current and innovative teaching practices that demonstrate high level understanding and application of differentiation for all learners across literacy and numeracy programs.

Throughout my educational career I have consistently used current and innovative teaching practices acquired through professional development, enabling me to successfully differentiate for learners across all six KLA’ including literacy and numeracy. Implementing these innovative teaching practices ensures a high standard of student outcomes. I have achieved this by:

• Implementing NearPod lessons, in conjunction with BYOD school programs to understand, review learning experiences and provide feedback for all learners. Utilising technological teaching practices such as NearPod, enabled myself as an educator to discover …show more content…

Utilising a research task, enabled me to provide differentiation by allowing student to choose the means of presenting their task. For lower level learners, I used a high level of scaffolding and allowed them to research in pairs. For gifted and talented learners, I provided extended questions for them to provide specific links to the task. This successful experience created an inclusive environment where all students enhanced their literacy and digital literacy outcomes.

• Utilising numeracy groups that relate to students, interests, skills and position on the numeracy continuum. Implementing numeracy groups allowed myself to work with multiple students who need the same specific needs. A specific example in my 3-6 class is providing one group with higher level of scaffolding, when counting to 10 and providing the other 2 groups with independent and extension activities, such as Base Ten Block/Think Tank Maths (iPads).
