Throughout medicine there are many different types of fields that one can pursue. One popular field that is pursued is Dermatology. "Dermatology is the scientific study of the skin and its diseases (Definition of "dermatology")." Being a dermatologist is not an easy task. It is time consuming and takes determination to make it through all that is required. Dermatology requires multiple years of schooling to receive full accreditation of a dermatologist. This means that a dermatologist deals with any type of skin cancer, disease, or condition that the patient might have. It is important that the dermatologist knows how to properly diagnose the patient and carefully treat their condition. This is a technique that doctors will learn throughout their years of internship and residency. Dermatology can include surgical procedures, but not all dermatologists perform surgery. It requires multiple years of education and studying to receive proper accreditation. If a student is interested in dermatology as a future career it is crucial to start preparing as early as possible. It is imperative that there are dermatologists all throughout the world so that patients with skin conditions can be properly treated. Without them we would not know the extent of one of the most fatal conditions they treat; skin cancer. We also would not understand the importance of treating our skin properly if it were not for dermatologists. They are always prepared and properly treating patients with different skin issues every day. Although, it takes years to finally become a dermatologist it is still vital that we have them in life.
