The question that we will be focusing on is “Describe how the officer’s behavior might be improved by using the basic principles of police organization as well as policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and discipline. The basic first rule that officer Pasternak & Fishbaum should know is to follow the department's basic mission in which the police exist to prevent crime & any disorder but to in a professional manner. The second basic rule is that each police officer should perform their duties which will be dependent on what the public approves and disapproves. Officer Pasternak is a former Marine, it does not mean that he can run the police department as a military unit, it just will not work. Officer Pasternak must believe that not all citizens are criminals, there are good, and there are bad citizens, but he has the choice to choose who his weather associate with and not. …show more content…

Now I know from experience that prisoners in the military choose to have their hair cut short, but they do not wear combat boots all the time. Most of the military inmates clothing are the same as most county and city jails, that is orange jumpsuits, orange hats, and for footwear, the inmates will wear cloches, or white tennis shoes, which most of the time they can purchase this on their own. The next basic rule of policing would be that each officer must ensure that all citizens are abiding by city & state laws while in public.
