I am interested in Oakland University, this was founded in 1957, according to US News Education. They say students going to OU have the opportunity to join over 200 campus organizations. Their acceptance rate is 67.4 percent, I am glad to hear this because this shows I actually have a chance of getting in. The most popular majors at OU are the following; health, business, management, marketing, support services, education and psychology. Oakland has a satisfaction rate of 74.8 percent, knowing that more than half their students are happy with their results impacts my choice on going to OU. Also according to US News Education, more than 58 percent of the population is females. Oakland University is located in Rochester, Michigan, this is about 30 miles northwest of Detroit. It is only 9.4 miles away from Clawson, Michigan, about 22 minutes. According to US News of Education, the undergraduate population for OU is 16,935. Those students have not received a degree such as a bachelor's. Surprisingly the tuition for instate residents is only $11,460. Unfortunately if you come from out of state it is much more, $24,745. Oakland has many cool things around campus, they have Meadow Brook Hall and beautiful golf courses. On the official Oakland University site, they mention that the average GPA is 3.2, if you have 2.5-3.2 GPA they will consider you and read through your application and look for things that may stand out to them. Average ACT is an 18 or higher, including the written portion. 4-year graduation rate is only 18.9% as of 2010. That means only 18.9% of the students finished all their credits within 4 years. The average class size is often fewer than 35 students. That's only a few more than my high school classes, which is something I am looking forward to about that
