2. Describe the social structure that developed in the Olmec civilization and how they depended on each other.
The social structure that developed the Olmec civilization was the local ecology of alluvial soil. The civilization depended on the alluvial soil because the soil had a lot of water in it.
3. Describe the colossal heads that were built by the Olmec and why they were built.
They are best known for their carved heads. These carved heads are a representation of the Olmec rulers.

Describe the branches of government of the Maya that developed during the Preclassic period and describe the duties of those who served in the government.
Since the Mayans had nobles as their government system. Each Mayan city had a king, who is usually hereditary. The king supported the nobles and the nobles served in the kings admiration.

The priests of the Mayan culture served their purpose by preforming rituals to the Mayan gods.

The Mayans were responsible for the scientific achievements in astronomy, agriculture, engineering and communications.
