The article “Suzy and Leah” is written by Jane Yolen. The relationship between Suzy and Leah starts out pretty rough. Suzy wants to be helpful and give the refugees some snacks. Leah feels as though they are being treated like animals, and won’t take anything from Suzy. They meet each other in the camp. The camp where all refugees in America are staying. They begin to understand each other by the end though. Suzy, an American girl trying to help out the refugees. Suzy is just trying to give Leah some food, but Leah won’t accept. She doesn’t understand. Why wouldn’t she want some food? All Suzy was trying to do is help her out. Leah just doesn’t want food because she feels that they are treating them like animals.
