Some of the responsibilities of the social care worker are to develop appropriate professional relationships with the young people and their other carers and parents, if applicable; to assist in the day-to-day care and supervision of children and young people within the home, including engaging with them in activities such as housework, maintenance of clothing, cooking and personal care; to contribute to the development of the young person, through the encouragement and provision of a healthy life-style, to support the young person’s growth in both personal and social skills, and to maintain confidentiality in respect of staff and young people at all times, to name a few.
