Desensitization Of Violent Video Games And Violence Towards Women

Video Games and Violence Popular video games including violence like Fortnite and Grand Theft Auto are brainwashing today’s youth. Games like the ones listed above are creating an image in young teenager’s heads of rewarding violent acts towards animals, people, and objects. Violent video games can be very dangerous and cause major behavior changes, even if their only played for a short amount of time each day. Virtual violence in video games can cause desensitization to violence in real-life. According to ProCon.org, “ People desensitized to violence are more likely to commit a violent act. A Sep. 2011 peer reviewed study found a casual link between violent video game exposure and an increase in aggression as a result of s reduction in the brain's response to depictions of real-life violence,”. Playing violent video games can train the players’ brain to become less reactive towards real-life violence. Even playing these games for only a short amount of time can affect the players’ brain. Playing these games can cause a real change in behavior.
