To me, Design is a powerful tool that we can acquire with time and which gives us the capacity to explore a lot of fields, something like a never-ending journey of knowledge. It gives us the opportunity to achieve and create towards our environment as well as helping contribute to pretty much anything around us. Because if we look around, many might realize that we are immersed in it: posters, furniture, services, store experiences, brands, etc.; and all of these are done thanks to mostly design. But what helped me decide to really be part of design world was this one time, even before starting high school, that I walked by an exhibition of graphic design of a university back in my hometown. I found it quite amazing, at my young age, the packaging the students were able to create for different brands and such. But at that time I still didn’t know the whole process and concept behind it. A process that nowadays fascinates me into almost every university project that I got to do. Aside from that I also got inspiration from my family, whom which my mom and my aunt were able to study different types of design. So from the school years, I've been trying to achieve to do an interesting art project which the help of them. But this time I wanted to travel to another place fulfilled with cultural movements, tastes, colors, textures, experiences and so on. Differing from my current reality and allowing me to become immersed in historical places related to design.
I consider all these because I already lived it in another context when I was fifteen years old. And it helped me grew in many ways I know I wouldn't have been capable of if I had stayed back home. This was when I traveled to the United States and one of the main reasons that this happened was because I wanted to become more fluent in the language.
I’ve been studying English since I started to go to school, and being bilingual has helped me a lot through my life. So traveling abroad to study in this language was just an amazing experience for my teenage years. I liked the school system, the traditions, the lifestyle which was a completely different reality of the one I have known and grew up
