In this lab we studied the properties of hydrogen and oxygen gases in order to determine the best chemical ratio of H2:O2 for the explosive reaction between the two gases when forming H2O. To preform this lab, we tested different ratios of hydrogen and oxygen by taking Zinc and hydrochloric acid to form hydrogen and manganese and hydrogen peroxide to form oxygen. Once we made these two gases we collected them by putting a pipet full of water on top of the stopper. We tested different ratios like 1:1 H2:O2, 2:1 H2:O2, 1:2 H2:O2, 3:1 H2:O2, 1:3 H2:O2. When testing our ratios, we believed that the ratio 2:1 was the best ratio for explosive reaction between the two gases when form H2O because of the loud pop and flame reaction it produced. The
