Chapter 8 discussed the multifaceted of adolescent identity development. One aspect of identity development is adolescent self-esteem. According to Steinberg (2015), girls, especially during early adolescence are more likely than boys to have lower self-esteem. They traditionally feel more insecure and have lower self-image.
