This quote stood out to me because everyone has the fears like of spiders or clowns. The fact that Equiano was scared of people just shocked me. Fear fuels ideas, believe it or not. When you’re in a tough situation you immediately start thinking of what you can do to make it better. It’s the same with survival, you immediately start thinking of ways for shelter, food, water, and the outcome of the situation. Fear also causes you to think in the worst possible way. You may be too tired or weak to do something so you automatically think it’s the end. Is there ever really an ending to a person’s life though? Although it’s too hard for you to go catch food or water there’s always a little strength that should strive you to go get it because it’s not the end. In conclusion, when trying to surviving always have faith, resources, and fear to strive yourself.
