Dissemination means the distribution or spreading of worthwhile information, which in this case is information about the efficacy of diabetes education. The success of dissemination comes from implementing a dissemination plan made up of multiple dissemination strategies to reach the patients (Schipper, et al., 2016). Dissemination is important because of the need to assist diabetes patients in managing their challenging lives full of obstacles due to diabetes. Through advocacy by individuals and organizations, information on how to reduce the challenges and obstacles of diabetes can be can be disseminated. Organizations such as the American Diabetes Association (ADA) should have dissemination of diabetes information as their cardinal goal, to reduce diabetes and ensure subjects, adults and children, who suffer from diabetes live a healthy and productive life free from discrimination. They should adopt multiple channels for dissemination, such as internet social media, text messaging, emails, websites, you tube, and word of mouth. Each of the channels mentioned are suitable for diabetes self-management education dissemination. What is not known is the best channel, which calls for research to determine the best channel.
