The biggest issue with the colonists was their desire to increase their wealth and their ability to exploit their natural resources. Unlike the Native Americans who kept a balance of what they took from the land, the colonists excessively cut down trees for ships, houses, and other uses. They also brought livestock and other animals with them from Europe, letting them roam into the ecosystems they were not accustom to and throw off the natural balance. The livestock that colonists brought (cows, horses, and pigs) increased the wolf population drastically, ultimately creating problems for both civilizations and resulting in fences being built. The colonists did not pay attention to the impact they were having on the landscape from turning forests into farmlands or by letting their animals graze and destroy previously existing ecosystems.

By 1900, Native Americans had lost half of the land that had been originally given to them. Meanwhile, the farming and assimilating of Native Americans was not successful. By many accounts, Indians were not adjusting to neither their new family dynamic nor farming. The Cheyennes had to learn how to plough, plant, and harvest their new aired properties. One Sioux recalled the struggle men especially had of being stripped of his previous purpose, hunting buffalo, and his tribe, with whom he hunted with.
With the arrival of Anglo-Americans, Native Americans lost much more than just their land. Tribes were forced onto reservations, stripped of their culture, wealth and place in society, with no hope of regaining what they owned unless by complete assimilation. For the latter half of the 19th and early 20th centuries, many Anglo-Americans continually pushed for Native Americans to abandon their cultures and “savage” ways. However, despite the many attempts to force Natives into Anglo-American culture, many Native Americans found ways to negotiate with the demands of the Anglo-Americans through mainly social, economic and legal means.
Native Americans flourished in North America, but over time white settlers came and started invading their territory. Native Americans were constantly being thrown and pushed off their land. Sorrowfully this continued as the Americans looked for new opportunities and land in the West. When the whites came to the west, it changed the Native American’s lives forever. The Native Americans had to adapt to the whites, which was difficult for them.
A leader is someone who is in charge and is the guideline for others to follow to achieve greatness. Katniss Everdeen is a survivor of the previous Hunger Games and in many eyes the main cause of uprisings. The Hunger Games is an annual event in a random arena with 24 tributes consisting of 2 tributes per district, they have to eliminate each other for one to claim victory. A quarter quell is held every 25 years and a special twist is added, this year all the previous victors will be part of this new game. Katniss Everdeen is a not true leader because of her lack of social skills and being able to talk to others even in the arena she misses some crucial skills that many leaders have, she acts before thinking of the consequences of her actions
