The two empires had different ideas of culture in relation with the people and their viewpoints. The Chinese had a defined hierarchy. Whereas the Romans had a weaker not as defined hierarchy with no equivalent religion to Confucianism. Family was the foundation in Chinese culture, the Romans lacked this particular quality. Both empires contrast because of their vastly different views because of culture and
In conclusion, the two civilizations believed in entirely different ways to govern themselves and they both had completely different values of individuals. Athens had a strong confidence in each male citizen, believing that men were higher over all. They believed each man should engage in government and contribute their thoughts. On the other hand, Han China did not cherish the individual, instead, they believed men were a part of nature. They also believed that people should behave, be kind to others, and let the higher classes govern
They both had social classes that were a huge part to society and both had a lot of distinction between the different classes. Unlike Han China, In the Roman Empire, people could move between classes. In the Roman Empire the Upper class included the senator class and the equestrian class. The Lower class included the commons, Latin’s, foreigners, freed people, and slaves. In Han China, the social structure had three tiers.
China on the other hand had more problems in its bureaucracy and civic unrest. For example, some peasants who had lost their farms had to sell their children into service. A third difference is that as previously stated, China had a successful revival while Rome did not. Rome divided and the Western half survived but was diminished by attempts to regulate the economy and decline tax revenue ’s.
Economy is the theory of trading something, in most cases, a currency of sorts, for a service or a good. The United States’ economy was first invented around the creation of the colonies. When the colonies declared independence from Britain, a more formal economy was developed to what it is today.the new world progressed from a small marginally successful economy to a large industrial economy by the late 18th century. Starting at trading of furs, we brought our newly found economy to light. This gave us a gate to the new superpower we didn 't know yet know about.
The Reagan administration believed that the Soviet Union's military strength was the greatest threat to the security of the United States (Fischer, 1997). Reagan refused to believe the Soviets would cut back on certain missiles if the U.S. would refrain from deploying immediate range missiles in Europe. Reagan would increase the number of weapons and revive military programs that had been previously cut. He would also propose to build better weapons that could disable nuclear weapons from space. Reagan's Strategic Defense Initiative, or Star Wars, violated the 1972 ABM Treaty forbidding defensive systems capable of covering the entire U.S. or Soviet Union.
Most Chinese lived in separate communities, showing little to no inclination to adopt local mores; they saw themselves as temporary visitors-and were contrast to remain apart. One of the contrasts that I did pick up on within Markus’s reading that we did not going into much depth about was the difference between post California gold rush Asian immigrants and their economic role versus that of Australia’s. Following the gold rush in California, Chinese immigrants pursued jobs in other fields such as agriculture, construction of railroads or manufacturing plants, these newfound jobs that existed in California post gold rush was not the case in Australia
As possible as it was for them to have different experiences it was also possible for them to somewhat have similar experiences. Due to them both being in China, although in slightly different times, it is easy to compare their travel accounts. A similarity that occurred in both of their travel accounts is that they both wrote from what they knew. All that they had observed was mainly because of the way and where they had been raised and how that triggered their train of thought. Another similarity is that in both travel accounts religion was discussed.
Australia and China are two very different countries with an almost polar opposite government structure, political systems and values. Australia is a constitutional monarchy whereas China is a single communist party state. It is arguable as to which system of government is more effective, considering it is involves other factors like social freedom, the quality of life and the economy. But comparing hand in hand, Australia’s system of government has proven to be more effective in all of these areas. Australia and China have many similarities yet differ greatly in political structure.
Since the average monthly income for a family is relativity low, they only earn around USD 500 per month, Chinese therefore really care about how much they could get within their budgets. They always like to get a big portion of food by paying little
They are influence by Confucianism (it’s the substance of learning, the sources of value, and the social code of Chinese). Today some of their traditions has changed like some prefer western food than the traditional Korean food. In Korea, you must address them by their family
Lily Wong, in her article about food, entitled “Eating the Hyphen,” states, “Perhaps this combination (ketchup and dumplings) has something to do with the fact that since both my parents grew up in the States, we’ve embraced many American traditions while abandoning or significantly modifying many Chinese ones” (95). Wong expresses how being a Chinese American has affected her life in a positive way. Wong eats some of her food Americanized, with ketchup, but also eats food that the majority of American’s would not touch (i.e. jellyfish and sea cucumber). Comparatively, Wong eats dumplings (which derive from the Chinese culture) with a fork, knife, and ketchup (which are all culturally American). Geeta Kothari, who wrote the article, If You Are What You Eat, Then What Am I?
For instance, them two had sorted out governments yet Egypt 's was a Theocracy and China 's was a Monarchy. Social pecking order varied between the two, too. In Egypt, the Pharaoh was the sun and stars over the entire of Egypt, he was accepted to be a resurrection of God. In china be that as it may, home and family were at the focal point of life. The two both assembled incredible structures, yet the Egyptians made Pyramids while the Chinese constructed the Great Wall of China.
China traded silk and bronze work. Egypt traded jewels, cotton, gold, chickens and ivory. There were several other characteristics that China and Egypt had in common. Both Egypt and China worshipped many nature gods. Both believed in an afterlife.
Many branches of Chinese food, such as Hong Kong food and American food, have appeared in the country where Chinese nationals are
