If you go to any Mexican restaurant it would be no surprise to find taquitos and tamales. But what is the difference between the two? Both are made with a variety of meats and have a corn casing, right? You would be correct, however, they might be more different then you think. First, lets look at the ingredients. Both taquitos and tamales are commonly made with pork but can be made with other meats such as beef. Along with this, many recipes include onions, garlic, and other spices. However, it is easy to see that they are quite different. For example, taquitos used shredded pork instead of chopped, add cheese instead of just meat, and use corn tortillas instead of dried corn husks. This is just the beginning of a long list of comparisons!
