Immigration has been one of the major issues in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The United States started becoming more urbanized and many Americans were moving from rural areas to the cities and this is what attracted many immigrants to come to the United States. Immigrants came from different parts of the world such as East Asia, Western Europe, and northern and southern Europe. Besides the U.S. is becoming a land of opportunity, immigrants have also traveled to South America and Australia, but more than 70 percent of them chosen to travel to North America.
