South Carolina South Carolina is one of two sister colonies. South Carolina has a lot in common with her sister colony, North Carolina. They were officially separated in 1729; however, long before that the two colonies followed different paths. South Carolina’s way led her down the steep slope of instability and through the forests of slavery and judgment. Despite this she came out alive and well on the other side.
Differences Between the Colonies The three Northern and Southern Colonies on the eastern side of early America, have their similarities, but that still doesn’t compare to their vast differences .When contrasted, the topic can go from religion, to climate, and even to the very accent or language that they may speak. Then in return, giving each colony their own “distinct” qualities to be represented for.

The south was fighting for independence and the north was fighting to bring them back to the United States of America.
And you can’t just pull up a plantation from nowhere, you have to build many buildings, and pay for labor too. Many people didn 't want to labor at sugar plantations. Because of the hot temperature and the other dangerous things you would have to be around. And plantation owners didn’t want to pay a lot of money for laborers. The solution, slaves.
How was life in the North different from life in the South Life in the north was different than the south in multiple ways such as the differences between wages and economy. The different weather And the different kinds of society. The economy between north and south were very different, in the north there were lots of machines which is why there was such a big industrial revolution. But in the south there was more land to be bought and sold. there was a big demand for guns and ammunition to, lots of people needed guns for hunting and protection.
However, during this time, sectional differences, such as slavery, population, and transportation infrastructure, divided the country, shaping its regions to be quite different from each other. Industry in America initially could not support
The treatment of slaves between the North and the South was drastically different. Slaves in the North typically lived in the same house as their master and worked by themselves, or in small groups (pg. 94). Slaves in the South tended to live in large plantations in which they were housed in plantation outbuildings (pg. 104). The difference between the North and the South in housing and working environment had a direct effect on the integration of African Americans into their new American society. When they were housed in the North with their masters and had limited exposure to other slaves, they tended to adopt the ways of their masters.

Hierarchy within society in the Southern colonies was based off the amount of land and slaves one had. The more an individual had, the more power one wielded. Slavery itself separated them from the rest of the colonies by a long shot. It 's not that the other colonies didn 't have them, it 's just that they didn 't have so many of them on their farms. Most southern colonies depended on slavery since they had a large demand for crops(tobacco).
Indentured servants later became slaves and we’re a huge population of both societies. Although both colonies had slaves Virginia had slaves way before Maryland. In both societies slaves were seen at the bottom of the social class and for a little in Maryland if a slave was baptized they could their rights in Virginia that didn’t happen. In Virginia and Maryland farmers were seen at the top of the social class and social life centered around farming. The Gentry were also seen at top in both societies.
The North and South emerged as two differences because they had various differences. These differences included the geography,the economy,societal,and differences in the transportation systems. One of the most strong differences between the North and the South was the Climate and geography. In the North The climate is very different from the south. North has warm summers and snowy, cold winters like wise the south has warm,sunny,hot,humid summers ;and mild winters ,and heavy rainfall.
Housing in the southern colonies depended in your social status. Wealthier families would live on plantations with stone and brick buildings, the slave usually lived on the plantations with their owners. New England colonies had a fair class system mainly made up of a wealthy merchant class. Men were the head of the households in the southern colonies while the women did much of the house work cooking, cleaning, quilting and raising the
The Northern and Southern colonies in the seventeenth century had many differences and similarities. The differences go all the way back to the beginning as the United States was only separated into the Northern, middle and southern colonies. Each colony shared many differences mainly revolving around religion, politics, economics and social issues. The result of the way that they dealt with these issues in our country today. In the north, crops grew slow and there were harvests twice a year. In the south, crops were urged and men forced them to grow quicker with fertilizer. For many years, I didn’t understand why two different places required two different social interactions. What is so complex for someone to say, “Good Morning”? Does individuals feel uncomfortable to say “Hello, Hi or Have nice day” to someone you may never meet again. I often speculated, do the folks in the southern states were more readily to greet people with you than the northern states on the east coast?
