During the late 1770’s people started to rebell against other people and their ideas on certain things. Rebellion is an act to overthrow something, and it can lead to wars, death and possibly even the fall of an empire like the French. The French had 7 government styles. Monarchy, limited republic, republic, dictatorship, etc. A monarchy is where one person rules the government (King or Queen). And a republic is where the people have the power to elect a certain official into office. Also a dictatorship is where a person takes the power all for himself and gives no power to the people. An example of a dictatorship is a man named Maximillian Robespierre when he took over France in the late 1780’s. The other types of government are an oligarchy
