African American abolitionist William Howard Day was born October 16, 1825 in New York City. William was raised by his mother, Eliza and father John. Day mother Eliza was a founding member of the first AME Zion church and an abolitionist. Day father was a sail maker who fought in the War of 1812 and in Algiers, in 1815, and died when William was four. As a child William mother gave him away to a white ink manufacturer who advocated the abolitionist and temperance movement.

Wally Schirra a humorous character. One of his mottos of life is," we should resort to jokes, pranks and good natured kidding to relieve tension, stress and boredom." This motto in his life is something I admire in people. The drive of a person who can keep a smile on their face, no matter the situation. Wally Schirra also had a house in Kauai, so he must have appreciated the beauty of our islands.
What’s the definition of the word “hero?’’ Many think it’s when a person does something heroic. But, have they really went into depth with the meaning of this word? A hero is someone who shows courage without even thinking about the dangers they could put themselves into. That is what Johnny Cade did.
Schindewolf plays an important role in my life, as it has helped me learn throughout these past two years with obstacles in its way I have been able to succeed.
