Fall of Rome CER 21 March 2024 Due 4 April 2024. For 1,229 years, there was an exceptionally large empire. The Roman Empire. At first, it was a Republic, but the Republic failed and a dictator, (emperor), took over. The Empire stretched from Great Britain all the way to North Africa and Asia.
The Pax Romana is described as a golden age for the Ancient Roman empire. A golden age is defined as a time with peace, order, unity, and prosperity. The Pax Romana was about 200 years long between the rule of Augustus to the rule of Marcus Aureliuz. The Pax Romana led to peace and prosperity as a result of trade and stable government. Specifically, trade expanded throughout the Mediterranean, creating wealth, and the Roman Republic created stability.
During Pax Romana, Rome had fair laws, a participatory government, growth and trade. But no peace can last forever. In 200 CE, Pax Romana comes to an end. Only twenty years later, foreigners start invading Rome. The Roman empire came to its end in 476 BCE, when invaded by the Goths, a Germanic tribe after five hundred and three years of being an empire.
The Pax Romana was a period of peace and stability after years of civil war. It renewed the citizens’ hope and for a while, trade flourished, they had a steady transfer of power set up by preceding emperors, stopping any more civil wars over leaders. They also had strong virtues regarding loyalty, government, family, and honor. Soon the period ended bringing with it pandemonium and poverty. Their sufficiency in trade decreased and slaves took the place of paid workers making the gap between rich and poor widen bringing with it an increase in class tensions.
The great Western Roman Empire was considered to be one of the most powerful empires in human history. Rome became the most powerful state in the world by the first century BCE through a combination of military might, political acumen, and economic might. The empire was founded on blood of two brother’s who fought to the death to be crowned King, which lead to the first King of Rome who was named Romulus. By the third century BCE, all of Rome’s power and greatness began to diminish. Rome was falling.
Rome started as a republic and ended as a dictatorship. The empires in Rome were the world's greatest empire. These empires started around 750 BCE. Around 200 BCE the Greek empire was weakening and Rome was getting stronger.
The great Empire of Rome, the greatest power to have ruled the Mediterranean. The Roman empire thrived in the time of Julius Caesar around 47 BC. Caesar had made Rome into an empire, but after he died, Rome started its downfall. It was unthinkable. The great Roman empire’s reign was over.
The year 27 BCE marked the start of the Pax Romana, the height of the Roman Empire. Rome had a series of good emperors, and everything was well until 180 CE, when this period of peace ended. A few hundred years later, in 476 CE, the Western Roman Empire fell once and for all. The fall of the Roman Empire was caused by a combination of powerful enemies, geographical challenges, and most importantly, political instability. These factors weakened the Empire’s power and eventually led to its downfall.
Many people think of Rome as a great empire. Nevertheless, the Roman empire had more flaws than what one would think. Rome began around 750 BCE as a simple town. By 200 BCE, Rome was a powerful empire. The empire lasted for about 1,226 years before its “fall” in 476 CE.
The fall of the Roman Empire began in 476 C.E. building the empire began in 753 BC. The twin boys had a story to tell their names were Romulus and Remus sons of Mars the Roman god of war. The twins were the founders of the city of Rome, in fact Romulus was the last roman emperor at the age of 14 years old. He was ousted by German forces in 476. After he ruled Rome no emperor did so much as pretend to rule Rome and its western provinces.
The Roman Empire lasted from 96-180 C.E thanks to its large completed conquest and its flourishing arts, literature, and commerce, but there is more than just that to its success as it is said in 155 C.E by

On the 14th of March, 44 BCE, Julius Caesar is assassinated, sending the Roman Empire into chaos and forever changing the political landscape.
We recognize in the construction of the work „ Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire“, that Edward Gibbon, in the first works a total period of 460 years. He begins in 180 AD and ends in 641 AD. Here we see, that the author is largely concerned on the time especially during and after the fall of Rome. Rome was the richest and most powerful for around 200 years then started to have a fallout. The Roman army was conquering people left and right, which led to the increase of Rome. Caesar used his status to turn the Republic into an Empire. Rome became lazy and let their guard down, after being peaceful for 1,250 years they were invaded by an outside establishment. Parts of the Empire survived but most were destroyed.
The legendary Roman Empire lasted from 753 B.C.E. all the way until 1453 A.D. However Rome split in two at about 395 A.D. which crippled the ancient Rome we know. So really ancient Rome lived from 753 B.C.E. to 476 A.D. But the name of Rome continued on in the Byzantine empire for about another 1000 years. Yet many people nowadays still refer to Rome as one of the greatest ancient civilizations of all time.
