How Might Teacher Inquiry be Used to Further Goals of an Effective School Teacher inquiry might be used to further goals of effective schools by means of shifting the school-based planning process. Writing holds a central place in everyday life, from talking with friends and family to navigating academia and careers. We are all constantly being bombarded with information, assignments, and tasks that require our ability to navigate a highly literate world. As I continue my transition into the world of adulthood, the demands on my literacy skills will only go up. Gallagher who summed up the importance of literacy in the Information Age says it best: “Today, writing is foundational for success” (4). My role as a teacher of writing is an important job, one that, if done well, can tremendously help students to flourish in this new age.
Response to Intervention is a multi-tiered instructional approach to early identify students who are experiencing difficulties in daily classroom learning and are not meeting grade-level expectations. As a student moves across each tier the academic intervention changes and becomes more concentrated. The purpose of RTI is to recognized students when they begin to struggle and provide them with a high quality instructional approach, to avoid the unnecessary LD label to students who can be helped to improve their academic performance. Within RTI students’ development are recorded through curriculum base progress monitoring. Some elements of RTI are as followed; all students are screen entering the school, there are three tiers of increasingly intense instruction, the first tier occurs in regular education, continuously monitoring students’ progress through objective tests.

There are students right here at CHS that have these disabilities and most students here do not understand how to interact with them. Also for those of you who are future parents, you never know what the future holds and you could have a child with disabilities. Schools need to provide students with resources such as an RA or SNA (Special Needs Assistant) to students or teachers that want or need one. They also need to provide specific framework for students such as IEPs etc., allow pre-entry contact for pupils and parents, and create a strong relationship with parents based on constant communication. If schools can effectively provide these resources for students with special needs, the transition from Primary to Post-Primary education can run smoothly and create great educational experiences for these
Henry Ford once said, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress. Working together is success” (Brainy Quote). From here, the concept of inclusive education, including students with and without learning disabilities as peers in the same classroom, originated. The aim of this type of education is to get students with learning disabilities involved in the society. Teachers and fellow students will also provide help for students with disabilities; in this way, students with learning disabilities will be motivated to study as they feel that they are a part of a group instead of being isolated in special places.
