Final Film Reflection
Diversity is a crucial aspect of society, and it is important to acknowledge and appreciate it. The film "The Imitation Game" showcases the discrimination faced by Alan Turing, a gay man, during World War II. The film highlights the importance of diversity and the challenges faced by individuals who are perceived as different from the norm. Everyone grows up in a different, “culture that specifically molds them into who they are.” This can be due to the interesting and dynamic cultural landscape that they grew up in. This misconception can lead to discrimination and prejudice. In the film, Turing is subjected to discrimination and persecution due to his sexual orientation, which is viewed as deviant by society. This reflects a broader problem in society, where individuals who identify as LGBTQ+ continue to face discrimination and prejudice, often being denied equal rights and opportunities simply because of their sexual orientation or gender
